For more than 25 years Jeff Thompson has been photographing assignments for news, corporate, wedding and portrait clients. 

Over the course of 20 years, Jeff worked for newspapers in Minnesota, Florida, Arkansas, Texas and Wisconsin. Working in some of the most competitive markets in the United States, Jeff won numerous awards as a top photojournalist. Assignments to cover presidents, space shuttles, riots and numerous professional sporting events gave Jeff the calm and experience to handle the pressure of any situation. Working closely to document the lives of people in his community gave Jeff the satisfaction of making a difference.

Jeff left newspapers  in 2000 to concentrate on his growing freelance business. Magazine and commercial clients were his main focus for the first few years. Jeff got back to his photojournalist roots by adding significantly more wedding photography to his workload early in the decade.

Always a bit restless for new challenges, Jeff decided to open downtown Eau Claire’s only full-service photography studio in the fall of 2010. Without leaving his location photography roots, Jeff can now offer his services to client wherever they need.

When he’s not running his business, Jeff is a proud husband of Teri Piper Thompson and father to Charlie Thompson.
